If I’m not mistaken, World Book Day is traditionally the 1st Thursday in March – not 23 April…. I happen to work in a library.
You are completely right. While April 23rd is the official global date set by UNESCO, the UK & Ireland officially celebrate World Book Day on the first Thursday in March to ensure the event falls during term time and avoids the Easter holidays.
